Van Plestik
Summary
Van Plestic focuses on recycling plastic waste that is difficult to process using traditional production methods. The company designed and built specialized 3D printers that use waste as a raw material. Using this technology, the company recycles local plastic into stylish new objects.
Story
Founder Nout Kooji started working with recycling plastics in 2014, with a goal to produce a 3D printer filament made from recycled plastics. During his research of the Dutch plastic recycling industry, he found that most waste plastics are not recycled but burned or sold to other countries. This was the germ of his idea.
