The circle of it: This company produces high-quality pencils made from recycled newspapers.
momo pencil
Summary
Momo Pencil produces high-quality pencils using recycled newspapers instead of using wood. The majority of pencils today (the world consumes an average of 14 billion pencils annually) are made from wood as the primary raw material – this results in millions of trees being cut in the process. These pencils are sold to schools, corporate firms, government agencies, and retailers. Rather than using wood, the company works with local workers to source recycled newspaper and roll them around the graphite core. The pencils also help reduce paper pollution by keeping these newspapers out of landfills.
Story
Founder brothers Mahamud and Rashid Omari founded the company based on a social mission to provide eco-friendly pencils while also promoting and providing materials to disadvantaged kids.
