Summary

ByFusion’s Micro Diversion Platform (MDP) is a plastic waste diversion system that is designed to enable communities and corporations to transform their waste into a versatile reusable building material called ByBlock. In addition to shredding the plastic, the process uses steam and compression to repurpose unsorted commingled plastic waste into ByBlock without secondary additives or fillers (22 lbs of plastic create a 22 lb ByBlock). Story

Founder Heidi Kujawa was always interested in reusing waste or scrap materials and finding new uses for them, even as a young child.  She had had a successful career in entertainment and tech, but was looking to do something more meaningful, when she heard about a company that smushed old plastic into blocks, which could be used as construction material instead of concrete or bricks. This inspired her to create something better and ByFusion was born. (Source)
